I have always had a strong passion for movies. To me, they are everything and can even change your life. I love exploring different genres, actors, directors, and storytelling styles. To keep track of everything I watch, I use an app called Letterboxd, which works like a digital movie diary. On Letterboxd, I can log each film I watch, give it a rating, and write a short review to capture my thoughts. It helps me remember what I liked or didn’t like about a movie, and it’s also fun to look back and see how my taste has changed over time. Keeping this diary makes watching movies more interactive and meaningful, turning it into both a hobby and a personal record of my film journey. My goal is to watch 100 movies this year, but I’m a little behind at 57 so far.
| Favorite Actors | Favorite Directors | Favorite trilogies | Brad Pitt | David Fincher | Batman Trilogy |
|---|---|---|
| Jake Gyllenhaal | Chistopher Nolan | Plant of the Apes |
| Timothée Chalamet | Matt Reeves | Star Wars Original |
My favorite movie franchises are Dune, Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, and Batman. With Dune, I originally thought I wouldn’t enjoy it, so I skipped watching either film in theaters, which is one of my biggest regrets. The cinematography is breathtaking and left my jaw on the floor. Timothée Chalamet commands the screen with powerful monologues, and Austin Butler delivers an incredible performance alongside intense fight scenes and a stunning score. Star Wars has always been nostalgic for me, as it entertained me growing up and continues to do so with every film. Planet of the Apes, specifically the Matt Reeves trilogy, is one of the most well-written trilogies I’ve ever seen. The movies center on apes who barely speak, making every word and scene feel weighty and meaningful. Lastly, Batman stands out because he is simply my favorite fictional character.
My favorite actors are Jake Gyllenhaal, Timothée Chalamet, and Brad Pitt because each of them brings something unique to the screen. Jake Gyllenhaal often takes on deeply emotional roles,I think of him as the actor of pain, agony, and despair. His performances always keep me on the edge of my seat. Some of my favorite movies from him include Nightcrawler, Prisoners, Southpaw, Donnie Darko, and Brokeback Mountain. Timothée Chalamet has a natural charm, and he stars in some of my all time favorite films like Dune: Part One, Dune: Part Two, and Beautiful Boy. I’m also excited to watch A Complete Unknown soon. Brad Pitt, in my opinion, has even more range than the other two, paired with incredible charisma. Whether he’s starring in action-packed blockbusters or dramatic films, he always delivers. My favorite Brad Pitt movies include Moneyball, Fight Club, Se7en, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and Ocean’s Eleven. Together, these actors represent the kind of talent and dedication that inspire my love for movies.
